The Center for the Science and Technology of Advanced Materials and Interfaces (STAMI) is awarding a total of eight (8) Graduate Student Fellowships of $5,000 each for 2020. The award is added to his/her existing stipend, and fellowships recipients gain access to the STAMI network, get to meet peers from other campus units, and are encouraged to participate in various STAMI activities (e.g., the Distinguished Lecture Seminar Series and the Industry Partner’s Day).
Eligibility: Applicants should be graduate students with a superior academic record as demonstrated by a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Only students who have been at Georgia Tech for at least two years, and engaged in research for at least one year, are eligible to apply. You must be employed by Georgia Tech as a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) or Teaching Assistant (TA). Applicants must perform research that falls within subject matter boundaries of the STAMI community (COPE, CRĀSI, GTPN, or SMI). Both the applicant and their advisor must be a member of STAMI (through one of the constituent organizations COPE, CRĀSI, GTPN, or SMI). Submission of a STAMI Fellowship application will be considered an application from the student for membership in STAMI.
Application Deadline: October 28, 2019 by 5:00 p.m. All STAMI fellowship applications must be submitted online at: http://stami.gatech.edu/stami-fellowship-application. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Complete information needed for the Fellowship application is available in the online form. Before you begin the application process, please be aware that each application must include separate PDF files for: 1) Statement of Purpose (1 page limit); 2) Summary of Research Progress (2 page limit); 3) Research Proposal (2 page limit); 4) Current Résumé; 5) Letter of Recommendation from Advisor and 6) Two (2) Letters of Recommendation. Award COPE, CRĀSI, GTPN, and SMI will each award two STAMI Fellowships and the applicant deemed most outstanding from among the constituent organizations will receive the title of STAMI Graduate Student Fellow. Each STAMI Fellow will receive a $5,000 award, which will be added to their current stipend. STAMI Fellows must present their research at the end of the year to the STAMI community. Awards run through June 30, 2020.
